Description

This is an impressionist landscape painting. There is a deep band of purple in the distance which wafts around in a cloud-like formation, then melts into dark blue and gold. A vivid slash of turquoise in the foreground catches your eye. On closer inspection, a moon is visible just peeping out of the clouds above the horizon. The painting is very atmospheric as the colours of the day begin to fade with the approach of night.
