This painting in vibrant blue and green/grey inks makes me think of water in this part of the west of Scotland. Everywhere around this area of Scotland you can see water tumbling downhill, through rocks and crevices, especially after a rain shower, hence the title ‘Cascading’. I can’t see anything else but water falling when I look at this painting, but you might see something entirely different. That’s fine, and that’s the beauty of abstract art. There is a little stream of chrome highlights running across the centre of the painting.
